Brenda Lidbom- Middle School Principal
Welcome to CBDS Middle School! Middle school years are known as a time of rapid physical and emotional changes as well as tremendous mental and spiritual growth. For this reason, life in middle school is always exciting and challenging. Students in middle school need caring, compassionate teachers who are competent in their subject matter and skilled in how to deliver quality instruction to all students.
Relationships are extremely important in middle school. In fact, until students are secure and comfortable in their relationships, it is often difficult for them to concentrate on their school work. This is why we focus on building relationships at Calvary. Teachers are involved in activities with students that foster strong relationships between them. Through prayer for students, after-school study sessions, attendance at athletic and social events, and other such activities, the bonds between teachers and students grow strong.
One of the advantages of life in the middle at CBDS is that our students have the opportunity to work with and model appropriate behavior for our elementary students. They also enjoy working with and having as mentors our high school students, who provide godly examples of character and service for our middle school students.
In addition to a strong academic program, CBDS middle school students enjoy a variety of extra-curricular activities. Athletic opportunities include mens and womens soccer and basketball teams, womens volleyball, mens baseball, and cheerleading. In addition to these middle school teams, seventh and eighth grade students may compete on the following varsity teams: womens tennis, coed cross country, coed swimming, and coed golf.
